Linda West established Mélange Catering and Special Events in 1985 with two employees.  Today, with more than 30 full-time and 150 part-time staff, Mélange is Houston's largest full-service catering and special event company for both corporate and social events, offering a wide range of services including event planning, facilities selection, decorations, rentals, food, beverage, service and entertainment.

Mélange has had the opportunity to be a part of Houston's most spectacular events:  The Virginia Slims Tennis Tournament, The Republican National Convention, "Milestones and Miracles" (a celebration for President and Barbara Bush), numerous galas including The Museum of Natural Science Gala, the Houston International Festival Mayor's Gala, the Zoo Ball plus several grand openings--most recently the Grand Opening of Foley's at the Memorial City and the Galleria locations in Houston.  We also recently produced the 35 th Gala for Theatre Under the Stars - a seated dinner for 700 in the new Hobby Center, and Houston's Freedom Over Texas 4 th of July Celebration near Downtown Houston.

Mélange's years of experience and dedication to the industry are apparent in the memberships that we hold, such as:   International Special Events Society (ISES), Board Member of International Caterers Association (ICA), Greater Houston Partnership, Houston Heritage Society and the Professional Group.  Linda West, the president of Mélange, was also recently recognized as one of Houston's top 20 Women on the Move.  We are also certified members of the Women's Business Enterprise Alliance (WBEA).
